Lower School work with architectural glass artist for art work for new school build.
As part of the work for the new school, selected classes from years 7 and 8 have had the opportunity to work with architectural glass artist, Catrin Jones. During their first workshop Catrin introduced the pupils to how she works and how they can create glass tiles that will incorporated into the new school. Pupils then set about sketching designs for their own tiles. During their second session pupils used a variety of natural materials pressed into clay to create moulds of their designs. The clay templates were then filled with plaster of paris which will act as moulds for the glass. Catrin will now use the pupil’s moulds to create the glass tiles. These will be placed on the balustrades, on the walkway leading to the new school.
