| Staff Grow Mo’s for Men’s Health Awareness |
| 05 November 2009 |

Health issues are forever at the forefront of the news. You can’t read a paper or watch the news on TV without hearing about Swine Flu, breast cancer and recently the HPV vaccination program for protection against cervical cancer.
It is often the way that women are more proactive about health issues whereas men tend to shy away from any problems. As a result a number of male members of staff have decided to raise awareness of men’s health issues by taking part in ‘Movember’.
For the month of November, renamed Movember, some of the male members of staff will be growing a Mo (Australian slang for a moustache) and raising much needed funds and awareness for men’s health issues – specifically prostate cancer. What many people don’t appreciate is that one man dies every hour of prostate cancer in the UK, more than 35,000 men will be diagnosed this year and that prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK.
We are raising money as a staff for this cause, but if you would like to donate as well we would greatly appreciate it. You can do so in the following ways:
- Click this link http://uk.movember.com/mospace/72258/ and donate online using your credit card, debit card or PayPal account
- Write a cheque payable to ‘The Prostate Cancer Charity - Movember’, referencing our Registration Number (72258) and mailing it to: Movember - The Prostate Cancer Charity, First Floor, Cambridge House, Cambridge Grove, London, W6 0LE, or pass the cheque into school and we’ll send it in.
The clean shaven staff are pictured below. What will we look like by the end of Movember? Look on this website for updates and the final Mo’s. It’s all a bit of fun and the staff will be voting for the best Mo at the end of the challenge!
