| Cowbridge Comprehensive Becomes a Fair Trade School! |

Cowbridge Comprehensive School yesterday heard that it had been awarded Fair Trade School Status.
Lynette Aitken – Fair Trade Schools Manager said, “Congratulations! You have been awarded Fairtrade School status for the coming year. We will be sending you a certificate in the post shortly. We hope that now you are a Fairtrade School you will continue to promote Fairtrade in the school and the wider community. It is thanks to the hard work by schools like yours that Fairtrade is benefiting so many farmers. Keep up the good work as you will need to renew your Fairtrade School status in a year’s time.”
Lizz Shaw (Community Focused Schools Cluster Coordinator) and the School’s Fair Trade group, have been working on achieving Fair Trade status since September, and would like to thank the following people:
- Mrs Margaret Evans, Senior Management and Governors for their support of Fair Trade
- Cowbridge Comprehensive School 's Fair Trade group – made up of mostly pupils!
- The Cowbridge Fair Trade Action group - we couldn't have done it without you!
- The PSE, Food Technology and Geography departments for providing the required evidence and for teaching about Fair Trade!
- The Curriculum Assistants for scanning documents and for support!
- Clare Revera – Fair Trade schools support officer
To maintain Fair Trade status next year, we will have to continue the hard work throughout the next academic year! Well done to everyone who worked so hard to help the school, achieve Fair Trade status.
