The long awaited quarter final of the County Under 15’s Cricket Cup took place between Radyr and ourselves at home last Friday. Cowbridge won the toss and asked Radyr to bat first. The bowling of Gareth Moorcraft and Lloyd Bishop was far too good and quick for the away team as they struggled to 23 for 6 with five of the wickets falling on the same score – Moorcraft 2 overs 1 for 11, Bishop 4 over 3 for 4. When captain Lloyd Collier changed the bowling James Percy got 1 for 6 and at the other end Harry Henman got 3 wickets for 0 runs and that 1 over. Jordan Flemming gained his first wicket for the school 2 for 1 allowing all 13 Radyr players a bat.
The target for Cowbridge was 38 runs in 20 overs and with Will Jones 17 not out, Michael Lloydd 5 not out this was achieved for one wicket in 5. 3 overs. Cowbridge took to play Cathays in the semi final again a Friday home match with the winners playing Llandaff Cathedral School in the final.
